Clayze
Smokey Dyar, Shimul Chowdhury (2024)Clayze is a dynamic approach to XR tools to co-create a virtual (and eventual physical) sculpture. The overall goal of the Clayze project is to foster imaginative ideas through interdisciplinary collaboration. Clayze facilitates novel and joyful emergent interactions between participants around creativity, particularly interactions that are inspiring or insightful for future XR projects.
As Clayze continues to develope, so do new creative and technical workflows to be unlocked for participating students. The students direct the project together, developing a sustainable studio culture and practice that will undoubtedly influence their subsequent coursework and post-grad prospects. We’re aiming to build this progress out into a cross-university projects and mutual student growth.
This project was made possible with support from the 2024 Round of the XRTC Creative Research Grant, the XRTC and the Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry.
