Tova: A Mass Extinction Play was an interdisciplinary eco-drama produced by Carnegie Mellon Students and alumni at the Irma Freeman center for Imagination in August 2024. Tova interrogates our relationships with technology, the environment, and each other in the nigh apocalypse. The plot follows a group of friends in a sinking city in the months before a city-destroying flood. They grapple with what it means to have a legacy and how to cope with being given up on by the world. A reflection of the climate despair many young people experience in the 21st century, Tova is a source of connection across times and a foreboding tale of what is to come.
