Pong Ping Pong (1971) Restoration Working Group

This working group is formed in collaboration with artist Bill Brand whose 1971 Pong Ping Pong immersive film performance relies on a mechanical assembly created from the automat2000 kit. The original is in poor condition and the working group is helping to identify the crucial points supporting quality preservation and knowledge sharing. We are creating an open CAD model of the meccano/automat kit as well as producing an edition of 3 “pong ping pong”machines for Bill to give to arts institutions looking to collect experimental film history.
