Ikjongshow

Ikjong Choi (2021)

CMU School of Design undergraduate Ikjong Choi used a digital loop station to explore a new idiom of live, improvisational performance, in which both music and dance are respectively composed and choreographed, nearly simultaneously, in real-time. As a solo activity that Choi devised during the comparative isolation of the COVID-19 quarantine, his goal was to challenge himself “to create something out of nothing and ideally something that aims to express beauty, harmony and drama”.

Choi’s project, the Ikjongshow, was supported by Microgrant #2021-003 from the Frank-Ratchye Fund for Art @ the Frontier.
