Grand Opening

Kim Beck (2017)

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, a tiny celebration was thrown for the Grand Canyon.

Conceived and created by CMU Professor of Art, Kim Beck, Grand Opening featured a booth decorated with banners, flags and deflated balloons, sheet cake, roses, and souvenir keychains.

Grand Opening was supported in part by Grants #2014-04 and #2016-035 from the Frank-Ratchye Fund for Art & the Frontier. More images of the project can be found in this archive.
