Julian Oliver

Julian Oliver (NZ/DE) is a critical engineer and artist based in Berlin. Active internationally since 1996, his work spans network art, software art, activism, creative hacking, data forensics, computer networking, information visualization and open source development practices. He is a long-time advocate of the use of free software in education and artistic production and supports projects and initiatives that assert civil rights in networked domains. Both Danja Vasiliev and Oliver are co-authors of the Critical Engineering Manifesto, and recipients of the 2011 Prix Ars Electronica Golden Nica.
