In Memory of Marge Myers, STUDIO Associate Director from 1991 to 2015
When the STUDIO emerged in January of 1990, the founding team of Lowry Burgess, Bryan Rodgers, and Wendy Plesniak realized the need for an Assistant Director who could hold their vision together.
That person would be Marge Myers and for over two decades she made the STUDIO a home for advanced, experimental, and groundbreaking research happening at Carnegie Mellon University’s College of Fine Arts.
Before CMU, she was Director at Pittsburgh Filmmakers (1988-1991) in Oakland after leaving the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts as the Theatre and Literature Director. Her background and love of the Arts, and especially Theatre drove her to pursue a bachelors degree in Theatre from Lycoming College and a Masters is arts management from Villanova University.
With all her accolades, degrees, awards, friends, and relatives, she was proudest of her daughter Julie(tte). Her family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Bridges Hospice staff, volunteers, and especially nurses.
A small private gathering will be held at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donation be made to Hope for OTHERS, through Hillman Cancer Center.
Select “other” and type in Hope for Others; Lee/Oesterreich lab. The family will also be receiving contributions, for those who do not wish to donate online, for donation to the organization as well.
