Whether you’re a VHS / Beta / U-Matic Fanatic or you’re newly attracted to Magnetic Media, you’ll find something to love this coming Wednesday October 4th from 10am to 11am in the STUDIO.
Led by STUDIO Associate Director Harrison Apple, (director/archivist of the Pittsburgh Queer History Project- see an example of their collections) and STUDIO Program Administrator Bill Rodgers, we’ll teach you how to build a signal path from Tape to Hard Drive, learn what a tape-head is and how to clean it, and make a movie along the way.
Show up with your own VHS (we’re sticking to one format today) or borrow one from our collection to cue up, select an in-and-out point, and contribute your own cuts to a collectively made movie.
As always, light snacks are provided and you’re welcome to bring some to share.
