David Perry, Lumi Barron (2021)Experiments for the Development of Embroidered Animations & Video by Lumi Barron & David Perry :: Supported by FRFAF (#2021-022) from STUDIO for Creative Inquiry on Vimeo.
These experiments, conducted by David Perry and Lumi Barron, focused on pushing the boundaries of stop motion animation using contemporary development of computer-based embroidery.
This research produced a wide reaching toolkit of techniques for designing and creating embroidery based animation including parametrically driven stitch paths, fabricating embroidered animation frames, and producing freestanding 3-dimensional embroidered lace structures.
This research was supported with microgrant#2021-022 from the Frank-Ratchye Fund for Art @ the Frontier.
