Oscar Harris

Former Fellows

Oscar Harris is a practicing architect and CEO of Turner Associates, a leading architectural and planning firm in Atlanta Georgia, which he founded in 1977. For over 30 years under his leadership, the firm designed projects that have transformed the urban fabric of Atlanta and other major urban areas.

Harris is a Carnegie Mellon alumnus and trustee. In 2000, Carnegie Mellon presented him with the Prestigious Alumni Merit Award for Excellence. In June 2006, Harris was inducted into the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows for his excellence in the practice of Architecture, as well as his work as a mentor for youth from under-served communities. Harris has worked for many years to stimulate the next generation of architects and expand pathways to the field for minority youth.

As a Fellow at the STUDIO, Harris created the Atlanta Center for Creative Inquiry, a project that introduces high school students to architecture and design through presentations by industry professionals, college professors and students, as well as studio tours and hands-on exercises.
