Kyle McDonald: Interaction, Open Source, and Noise & Glitch

Kyle McDonald gave a lecture on “Interaction, Open Source, and Noise & Glitch” in October 2010 at Carnegie Mellon University, with support from the STUDIO for Creative Inquiry, in collaboration with Pittsburgh’s VIA Music & New Media Festival.

Kyle works with sounds and codes, exploring translation, contextualization, and similarity. With a background in philosophy and computer science, he strives to integrate intricate processes and structures with accessible, playful realizations that often have a do-it-yourself, open-source aesthetic.
