As the semester draws to a close, the first year CMU MFA students will present the final research projects they have prepared for their Academic Seminar for the larger CFA community. This event is open to the public, all are welcome to attend. Food and drink will be served.

Tsohil Bhatia’s presentation will take up a particular fullness of nothing as a catalyst for curiosity.
The relationship between figuration and abstraction informs Jamison Edgar’s queer research project.
Yejin Lee will discuss emptiness in art via Buddhist philosophy.
Michael Charles Neumann is considering socio-cultural implications of embodiment and presence in virtual space.
The work of Rebecca Horn, Kiki Smith and Cathy Wilkes will open a discussion on interdisciplinary ideologies by Talya Petrillo.
Paper Buck is writing about fragmented narrative and collective memory in the work of Beverly Buchanan and Dahn Vo.
